Lighting Retrofit

Project Description

Financial Energy performed a comprehensive lighting audit and then completed the lighting retrofit and installation. The area of all the facilities totaled about 1,524,500 square feet included the retrofit of over 15,300 fixtures.

This project provided for the removal of existing T-12 lamps with standard ballasts and replacing them with T-8 lamps with electronic ballasts. The retrofits included delamping fixtures from 4 and 2 lamps to 2 and 1 lamps, respectively, (with reflector) and tandem wiring of 1 and 2 lamp fixtures. The retrofits also included installation of compact fluorescent lamps to replace incandescents, and installation of halogen lamps to replace flood lights. Additionally, we converted U-lamps to 2-foot T-8 fixtures, and replaced incandescent exit signs with new LED exits. These improvements allowed for standardization of materials, reduced energy consumption, improved comfort and reduced maintenance requirements.

Financial Energy worked with an EPA approved recycling and incineration company to dispose of over 20,200 lamps and over 3,000 ballasts.
