Project Description

As a sub-contractor to Siemens, Financial Energy retrofitted over 30,000 fixtures, saving CU approximately $200,000 in energy costs per year. In addition to the fixtures, the exits were also retrofit with more energy efficient components.

Financial Energy replaced existing T-12 lamps and standard/efficient core/coil ballast’s with T-8 lamps and electronic ballast’s. High use incandescent bulbs were replaced with compact fluorescent bulbs.

Financial Energy worked with an EPA approved recycling and incineration company to dispose of 14,400 lamps and 4,180 PCB ballasts.

This project also took advantage of local utility rebate programs to reduce the payback period.
