Motors & Motor Drives
Significant gains have been made in electric motor efficiency in recent
years. Variable frequency drives (VFDs) can be applied to many motors,
further reducing energy consumption, peak demand, and extending motor
life.
For example, a fan running at half of full speed requires only 13% of
full speed power. Also, reducing fan speed to only 90% of full power can
create significant energy savings.
VFDs can automatically reduce the motor load during less demanding
periods when full power is not required.
HVAC Controls
Adjusting heating and cooling systems to accurately reflect occupied
hours of a space can create significant energy savings. Installing
thermostats that automatically adjust heating and cooling set points is an
easy way to ensure your HVAC units are being used in the most efficient
way possible.
